Getting Up: contesting the ban--new information
http://www.jumpbutton.com/gettingup/jbtn-gettingup.htm
A web page has now been set up which contains a slightly modified version of the open letter sent to Attorney-General Philip Ruddock and the OFLC, that contests the refusal of classification in Australia of the game Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure.
Also on the page are links to the references and resources used in constructing the arguments and a section outlining ways in which concerned parties can take action.
Please feel free to 'link' to this web page, and use any of the information contained to construct your own news articles, press releases, blog entries, letters of opposition, web pages, etc.
The letter has already received overwhelming support, and special thanks to those who have started generating public discussion on the issues raised.
The decision made by the OFLC in this particular instance has far-reaching consequences, not only for Australia's interactive entertainment industry, but for the entertainment industry in general.
As such, it is imperative that this matter be pursued with ever-increasing pressure placed on the government to overturn the decision made, and to create an R18+ classification for computer games.
Kind regards,
