Yep, still working on it!
Expect a lot of changes as I move things around to see what works better more. At the moment, I'm mostly concerned about getting things functional and working, but the aesthetics side of the site will have to come a bit later.
looking sick... as in fully sick
looking great... I'm really excited about this new site... you are the man.. i keep saying this..
i prefer some elements of the old site.. and love some of the new...
i like the detail the in the title treatment the old site has.. i feel as good as the new one is... it is definitely way more corporate... obviously what you're going for.... could be me just being bias to what I've grown fond of and not being objective?? ..but the old one seems more personal... and more creative.. be great if a bit more of the old one could come through in the new one..
i kinda prefer the gallery on the side as well??? they are my first honest thoughts...
also i think the columns being divided into separate colors on the old site made navigation a bit easier..
the menus seem a lot more organized and easier to read compared with the older site.. and the sponsors look great all bunched together...
just adding my opinion to try and help ....but am first to admit I'm not a web designer's buttocks..
i spend ten minutes staring at a fridge trying to work out whether or not want Pepsi or chocolate milk... and generally pick the wrong one...
looking awesome though... and seems like such a evolutionary step in the right direction..
:)
You're absolutely right
You know, you're absolutely right on the design. I was content with keeping this current design for the next half year or so, but it really hit home that a 'corporate' kind of look was not the impression I wanted to give off. The design was meant to be simple (something like Facebook) and clean, but it doesn't really look like it's a creative site at all.
I'll be doing a redesign sometime after the migration is complete and things settle down a bit. Still got heaps left to do!
Layout is a little peculiar
I think if the company logos were a little less intrusive it'd be a significant improvement, though its nice to see Tantalus dominating the top of the page.

You probably noticed...
that the logo order has shifted already. Logo placements change randomly every 24 hours.
I like keep up the good
I like keep up the good work, cant wait till the final design layout.
Take as long as u need to getting it working just great looking forward to seeing how the site looks when it is fully ready:)
Mostly awesome!
Just as mentioned in earlier comments, the layout isn't exactly "wow, games industry!" Just a little more colour here and there would probably help.
I'm intrigued by the comment reply system, and the little notice bar on the side of new comments in sections. The threaded view is interesting as well.
I'm sure once everything is in full swing it'll be sweet!
Its already well on its way though =D
Yeh I know
There's a lot of info that needs to be shown, unfortunately. Maybe I should move the latest news listings up higher above the secondary navigation / latest journals list so you don't need to scroll down for latest news. People are gonna need to be scrolling anyway for recent comments which I think is something that is used often.
page bg
its wierd, seems like in some places background is missing, theres dark grey text over black thats hard to read, have to highlight it, then the tab menu looks like its missing the bottom to which it has to connect. basically the layout looks very broken. browsed on IE, Maxthon, FF3, Safari, same thing.

You'll have to take a screenshot
and show me. I test on the latest Firefox, Opera, and IE, and it looks fine.
It's looking great Souri!
but i liked having the jobs listing near the top of the page, but thats a minor thing :)
