Flow Spark Studios is seeking a highly motivated and talented app and game developer with strong skills in Augmented Reality development using Unity / Vuforia.

Initially, the contract involves working on two client projects in the AR space, but ideally your skills extend well beyond this into Unity based game development and app development. Game development is our core business, app development is our 'pay the bills' business.

The role is initially a 2-3 month contract with potential to go to full time and equity for the right candidate. Payment will be in line with your experience. Developer may work from home or our offices in Woolloomooloo.

Must haves:

Ability to work to a plan and lead the development of two AR apps designed for the real estate and advertising industries
Work with a team of local designers and off-shore development teams
Excellent skills and experience in Unity and Vuforia
Integrating backend services and setup of cloud based databases and user authentication
Creation of AR triggers, cloud recognition, manipulating 3d models
Ability to rapidly prototype apps and think creatively to solve technical challenges
Excellent documentation and technical design skills
IOS / Android development skills
Passion, pride and responsibility in your work
Proven development skills on released games or apps

Big plus if you have this also:

Passion for and skills in mobile game development
Free-to-play game design and social game mechanics know-how is a big plus
Entrepreneurial attitude

Software Engineer

The successful candidate will either be a recent graduate or have up to three years of commercial software development experience. Candidates would be expected to have a relevant degree in Computer Science or similar, and have studied in areas such as Games Technology, Mathematics and Physics.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • • An applicable bachelor's degree.
  • • A passion for learning and developing your software development skills.
  • • Good interpersonal communication skills.

Candidates must also demonstrate some of:

  • • Excellent understanding of 3D mathematics and physics.
  • • Thorough understanding of C++ and/or C# as well as object-oriented principles.
  • • Experience with games/graphics engines such as Unity.

We are currently seeking full-time Unity developer to manage a rapidly growing arm of our architectural-visualisation business from an operations and business-development standpoint, as well as develop and deploy mobile applications for iOS and Android via Unity. Join a tight-knit development team in our Melbourne office and help to shape the future of virtual-reality!

Responsibilities Include
• Work with Unity to create high-quality virtual-reality experiences for PC, iOS and Android
• Coordinate with the rest of our development team where necessary for large projects
• Write clean, readable and reusable code that is well documented
• Work with high-resolution, high-quality renders in the Unity environment
• Manage projects from client meeting through to deployment
• Coordinate with our business management team to assist business growth
• Coordinate with external contractors

Required Skills/Experience
• 2+ Years of Unity programming and project management experience
• C# Proficient
• Experience developing and publishing mobile apps to the Play store and Apple App store
• Experience working with Adobe Photoshop in the context of Unity development
• Well presented, able to manage client relationships

Advantageous Skills/Experience
• Prior experience working with the Oculus Rift, Google Cardboard, Gear VR, or other modern virtual reality system
• SQL Proficiency
• Mandarin fluency (especially Sichuanese Mandarin)
• User-Interface Design experience for smartphones, tablets and PC
• Any other development skills (especially sound design)

This is a Melbourne based position. Candidates must be willing to work in the Melbourne CBD.
