  • Slashdot has a good discussion thread regarding high end modelling programs (LW, Max, Maya etc) not being too useful for game modellers, as they are "all heavily biased towards doing non-realtime rendering using raytracing or some other technique. While they can be used to make models for realtime 3D hardware, a very large number of their features don't map well onto realtime 3D hardware." What's the solution? read the discussion and find out!

  • Alias|Wavefront has recently announced Maya 4.5 which features Fluid Effects technology and many enhancements in modeling and animation tools. Maya Complete will now include modeling features previously available in Maya Unlimited. Find out more about Maya 4.5. Its due out in September.

  • Slashdot has a nice link to an article that follows the last 17 years of this influential and addictive puzzle game. Who knew it had such a chaotic history!
