Is this a re-advertisement of the position that was closed a couple of weeks ago, and if so should people who applied for that not apply for this?

Those were just shit-kicker level design possies.

I think this might be the one advertised on the Bluetongue Website.

Yup. I remember the last one was only a junior posie. Looks like this new one is much more senior. Can't possibly be the same one.

I had a look at their website a few weeks back and this was the only position that was on there, so I think it might just be the same position again.

This one has GOT to be gone by now, surely

No its not. We still need a senior for a new project. You will need a lot of experience and preferably not an Australian citizen.

Excuse me for asking but what does aussie citizenship have to do with anything?

That type of statement could be considered discriminatory. I hope that reply didn't come from a blue tongue employee. ... VERY bad form!

Its no secret that most of the senior staff members holding positions in the Melbourne/AU game industry are from the UK, but I’d like to think that we (the royal we) might TRY to fill lead and managerial roles with people from our home country FIRST.

Wow.

What parallel universe version of Melbourne / AU do you live in, mate? Every company I know in Melbourne absolutely prefers to hire locals over internationals. At most studios you can count the number of overseas ring-ins on one hand.

I very much doubt that comment came from the HR rep of Blue Tongue. He usually puts his name on any post he makes so the comment above is more then likely from someone else.

Those adverts on game company websites get updated about as often as never. The whole point of visiting Tsumea is to get more up to date info on these jobs. The company websites are good for finding jobs when they're first posted but I'd hardly regard them as reliable or recent.

Just look at most of em, they're all locked down with 'Currently not hiring' plastered all over the careers sections. The Redtribe website is STILL up for Christ sake and its not even an active developer anymore...

Follow the links dude. If you go to the Blue Tongue site and click the job ad it takes you to an professional recruitment site called Kenexa. Looks pretty real to me.

Besides, this job IS on Tsumea! So stop messing around and apply already!

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are still hiring for this position, but we have had a number of great people apply, so might soon be making an offer. I will let you know when it’s been filled. In regards to the comment about only hiring from overseas, this was not made by anyone from Blue Tongue. We are currently only considering people that have the legal right to work in Australia, as we would always prefer to hire locally if possible and only consider overseas applicants if we cannot fill the position locally.

You can always contact me direct if you have any questions about other positions, my email is akirkby@thq.com or call me on +61 3 9914 9944.
