The applicant should have an excellent grasp of programming theory outside of any specific implementation language. In-depth knowledge of object-oriented design principles is essential for all applicants. The applicant must have excellent knowledge of PHP and be versed in the maintenance and of existing solutions. Desired skills (in order of importance) include:

? Minimum 3 years experience in PHP development
? HTML, JavaScript, CSS and related client-side technologies
? Server-side web development in other languages
? Linux usage
? Apache

Description: Games writer required to cover titles for PC, PS2, Xbox and PSP. It's not enough for you to be aware of gaming, you have to live and breathe it, and be able to translate that passion to the written word.

This role is a high volume position - you will be expected to write factual, entertaining copy - constantly. You must be capable of treating all titles for assessment with a stringent level of objectivity. The robust nature of online gaming communities means that you can expect feedback on your efforts almost immediately. You must have the ability to state your case and support it in writing.

You MUST be familiar with the local video games industry - aware of the key platforms, the publishers, developers, community and what makes a great game stand out from an ordinary one. You will be required to communicate on a daily basis with everyone from fellow team members to game publishers and their representatives, so you need to have a proactive, can-do attitude.

You'll need the ability to manage a busy workload independently, while still being a strong team player.

Desired attributes include:
? Professional experience in games journalism
? Excellent written communications skills and a flair for creative writing
? Keen enthusiasm in gaming on both PC and consoles
? Extensive experience in playing online games
? Well presented and comfortable traveling to visit game developers and publishers
? Basic HTML and word processing skills

The position would be ideal for a journalism graduate or person with an editorial background.
