Mode Games is seeking a 2D Animator to work with us to work on upcoming game titles and to help us to create amazing games for mobile and desktop platforms for our clients. The 2D animator must have a modest level of experience and be able to demonstrate animations they have created for characters and other in-game elements for games.

The 2D animator will work with the high standard of our game development team at Mode who will provide the animator with artwork, content, and briefs for animations we require in our games. A high level of experience with animation skills is required from time to time and having these skills will be preferable for the candidate. All animations for 2D must be done within Unity using its Animation system.

This position is currently only being offered as a short fixed-term contract, starting in late December 2020 or early January 2021, approximately 3-4 weeks of work. Hourly rates depend on experience and we will only offer a fixed cost for the delivery of animation assets (payable on delivery) for candidates who are external i.e. not working onsite. The candidate might be able to work off-site to our Sydney office. Local candidates in Sydney are always preferred but must be able to be contactable during Sydney local time working hours for feedback and discussions.

Our requirements are as follows:

- Experience with animation of characters with a puppet system and willing or have experience animating in Unity

- No rigging experience needed, we will set up the characters you just need to animate them to a brief.

- A clear understanding of character motion and physics-based motion

- Ability to give style, creativity, and life to animations (vehicles, objects, characters)
