MITA Studios is a high-potential video game development startup, based in Sydney Australia. Founded by industry professionals, the studio has the ambitious vision of creating one of the most definitive multiplayer shooters of this decade.  Shielded in stealth mode, to protect their ground breaking game design vision, the team is currently ramping up pre-production activities as they prepare to raise their next funding round and scale to full production.

THE ROLE:

We are looking to appoint an additional co-founder to join our Game Director, Technical Director and Development Director on the leadership team.  As Art Director and co-founder, you will immediately be in a position to influence the design, direction, and culture of the studio. 

As the leader of the Art discipline, you will be responsible for creating the unique and iconic visual style of the Project MITA universe, heavily contributing to our lofty goal of establishing a definitive gameplay brand and IP in market.  Leading by demonstration, you will be committed to bringing the art team inline with this visual style to ensure consistency.

PRE-PRODUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create a unique visual style: Outline the unique iconic visual style of Project MITA, by working closely with the concept and 3d team to produce previz examples of game play snapshots.  Snap shots should visually communicate the systems and moment-to-moment game play.
  • Technical Art execution: Outline the technical requirements for how we will achieve the fx's needed (shaders, materials, etc) by working closely with the Technical Art Lead.  Maintain performance required to provide desired visual style in a real-time environment on contemporary gaming hardware (ie: consoles).
  • Managing and Leading the Art Discipline: Leading the art team (environments, characters, props, animation, VFX, post processing)

EXPERIENCE

  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine.
  • At least 5 years experience in the PC / Console game industry.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and/or publishing video games.
