What will you do?
Your responsibilities will include market research, liaising with business intelligence, establishing requirements and success metrics, building a product vision, execution strategy and roadmap for software products.

What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in a product management background in software technology or video games.
You’ve a clairvoyant sense for understanding customer needs and strong problem-solving ability to craft solutions to solve their problems.
Analytical, with a strong data driven mindset.
Ability to inspire the team to build amazing products with a constant dedication to understand, question and improve.
Strong communication, listening & presentation skills (verbal and written)
Possess strong negotiation and influencing skills.
What additional skills will help you stand out?
A technical background is a benefit given the nature of the products we create.
Experience in taking a software product from inception, through to pitching, development and into live service is a huge plus.

SMG Studio is looking for an experienced game producer that wants to help us keep making awesome games.

We’re a diverse team of 18 in Sydney, Australia with a solid portfolio of games behind us and many more in the pipeline.

This is a role where you will make a difference and you'll be able to have a sense of ownership and pride in the output of the studio.

Our previous games RISK, Thumb Drift, Death SquaredOTTTD, One More Line and One More Dash are just the start. We have more games already in development and need help managing them to be meet their full awesome potential.

You’ll be expected to work with the executive producer to manage talent to maximise the best output.

You are:

  • • Worked on the development & deployment of an IOS & Android title.
  • • Worked on the development & deployment of a console title (Xbox One / PS4)
  • • Worked on the development & deployment of a Steam title
  • • Experience using Jira, Trello, Basecamp or Slack.
  • • A score of over 150 in One More Line.
  • • Experience coding, writing, 3D and any creative field.

Your duties will include, but not limited to:

  • • Creating and managing production schedules across existing titles and prototypes
  • • Managing daily/weekly WIPs
  • • Documenting the outcomes of meetings and allocating and enforcing actions on the team.
  • • Organise and document beta testing rounds both local and remotely.



Buy Somewhere is a Sydney-based indie studio working on its first title, a location-based multiplayer property tycoon for mobile. In our game, players choose what kind of real estate mogul they want to be, strategize around which properties to acquire, and either cooperate or compete with other players to reach their goals.

Our Lead Game Designer needs an analytics-focused brain to balance out her creativity.

We’re looking for a Product Manager with strong experience in game design. You'll work on-site, support prototyping effort for our game’s economy and monetization and follow through their development. You’ll use your analytics and projection skills to turn the massive data set of the real world into a well-balanced, engaging and successful experience. Once the game is live, you’ll transition to providing data-driven insights to improve the design and overall performance of the game, and build the product roadmap.


As part of the design team, you will:

    - Collaborate with the Lead Game Designer to polish designs and support prototyping efforts
    - Own pieces of the game that relate to monetization and the economy, and design some of the related features from early idea to completion
    - Model the game’s ecosystem and experiment with the tuning to ensure the play experience is fun and sustainable
    - Ensure that the feature set and design serve our business model and objectives
    - Design the telemetry events and reports required for targeted testing, soft launch and live services
    - Analyse user-generated data and competing products to inform the product roadmap and business initiatives
    - Document your designs, research, projections and plans and communicate them to relevant stakeholders


We seek someone who has:

    - Significant experience in the games industry (3+ years and/or a few titles shipped)
    - Great knowledge of free-to-play and ad-based business models, game economy and balancing
    - Good understanding of game design and game development
    - Good written and verbal communication skills
    - Ability to collaborate with others and gain consensus on your ideas
    - Ability to perform data analysis and produce reports relevant to various stakeholders
    - Analytical thinking
    - Creative problem-solving skills

    - You’ve worked in mobile development before.
    - You’ve studied or taken on game design tasks.
    - You know Confluence and Jira.

We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Product Manager to join our team in our Melbourne (St Kilda Rd) offices. This role is responsible for managing THQ’s key Core franchises/titles and associated products across Australia and New Zealand. This involves ‘championing’ their titles and brands through the development of marketing plans and product management.

Within this role you will be responsible for:

  • Work with the Marketing Director to develop overarching marketing strategies and tools across the product portfolio.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for allocated products to surpass sales revenue targets for Australia & NZ.
  • Prepare sales presentation materials and present products to retail buyers in person as required.
  • Help maintain existing distribution arrangements and secure further distribution business.
  • Develop new product / back catalogue initiatives to reach new markets, new channels or further expand presence in existing markets.
  • Managing relevant Marketing budgets.
  • Prepare and submit age rating submissions as required.
  • Prepare appropriate competitor analysis, market trends and product research across Australia & NZ.
  • Working with PR team to ensure appropriate PR coverage for Core titles and franchises.
  • Effectively manage employee performance and development.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Passion for the video games industry and knowledge of video gaming culture.
  • Must have demonstrated people management experience, including strong team cohesion and performance.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing or related field (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in product management or public relations (Marketing) (game industry is preferred).
  • Experience in developing visual asset/creative materials and an excellent understanding of the digital media environment.
  • Ability to maintain a database of catalogued art assets – both production and conceptual.
  • Proven ability to network and build strong professional relationships.
  • Excellent computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong commercial business acumen, an ability to think both strategically and in detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Natural creative flair, originality and strong visual sense.
  • Ability to respond professionally when ideas or designs are rejected.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including task and budget management and follow through.
