  • People had been giving us lots of great feedback, loving the online component. We just didn't know that people at Apple liked it too ;) Check it out at http://itunes.com/apps/artdecobackgammon3d This just happened a few days ago, needless to say sales have jumped up a bit. I don't want anyone to get the idea we're getting rich off this game, but it is nice to get some recognition for all the hard work.
  • Did anyone here own an Amiga between the late 80's and mid 90's? Did you use to connect to your local BBS and download demos with your 2400 or 9600 baud modem through your telephone line? Do the demo group names Decay, Cydonia, Pearl, Digital Access, or Punishers mean anything to you? If you answered yes to all those questions, then this will definitely be of interest to you! tsumea is proud to announce that we are now hosting Ozscene - The Australian Amiga Demo Scene archive! • The Human Rights are Aussie Rules Project is an education program teaching young people about human rights through the metaphor of sport. The project has three learning modules – a theatre performance, workshop and mass participatory game, Handball for Human Rights - which use principles of fair play to educate about complex ideas such as Freedom, Respect, Equality and Dignity. In 2011 the project has received funding for the development of an online game exploring the above themes. The Brief…

  • There's one worthy thing to note about Blue Tongue Entertainment's de Blob, apart from being an awesome game itself, and that is that the promotion for de Blob came with some highly humorous and incredibly gorgeous cinematics as well. Publisher THQ has continued the fine tradition by commissioning these two new trailers below in anticipation of the launch of the follow up, de Blob 2, which comes out late next month! Of course, these excellent animated shorts were created in South Australia…
  • Control Freaks was a regular Channel 7 TV show that appeared on our sets back in 2002 when games coverage on local tv was a scarcity. I think it may have been the first ever gaming show on local TV. Control Freaks piqued our interest since they began to fit in coverage of the local games development industry with their games reviews and gaming news. On their very first show, they were promised a tour and interview Ratbag games, so we saw fit to make a post about it on Sumea. Promoting the local…
  • Just a reminder to all that the 48 hour game making challenge, Global Game Jam is on this weekend! We've got two big hives of GGJ activity happening in Melbourne and Sydney (Perth is having a more quieter one this year, it seems!) starting tomorrow. IGDA Melbourne has helped organise one of the big events this side of the equator with great support from local developers, Firemint, as well as a great and diverse panel of judges to look over the entries. Game Jam Sydney also boasts some great…
