PALGN took part in the Sumea celebrations interview that I conducted recently, and they've been a website that I've admired for a long time, particularly since they do a mammoth task of running a general gaming website without the resources their bigger competitors have. And now they're going one step further by covering Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network games. I don't know how they do it all, but I bet it has something to do with an army of intelligent robots and a teleporter.

If you thought e-sports was a concept confined to mad South Koreans, think again. A group of Melbourne Counter-Strike players going by the name Team Immunity made it to this years e-sports world cup in Paris to compete against teams from over 40 countries, many of them with professional sponsorship. Team Immunity is not entirely on their own though, and class themselves as "semi-professional", even being able to find a few sponsors to help with costs, and allow them to compete on some of the…
If you only attend one Dissecta event this year, make it this one. This next Dissecta event will feature such Aussie industry heavyweights as Tom Crago, CEO of Tantalus and President of the GDAA, and Jason Hill, journalist and Screenplay blogger. The speakers will be discussing what went on at the E3 this year, it's move from the biggest video game exhibition around to a more intimate affair, and some of the history surrounding the event. There will also be a selection of video clips from E3…
This is an interview you need to read.
When Screen Play's Jason Hill begins it with "Why did you announce a bundle instead of a price cut?" to Michael Ephraim, the man in charge at SCE Australia, I knew we were in for something special.
The pricing for console games and hardware has been a major sore point for all Australian gamers, and the disparity between what we pay for compared to what our overseas friends do has become even more gaping in recent times. The recent uproar on our bundled…

I-play, a developer of mobile games, has scored themselves the official license to develop games with the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) branding. But why are we interested in this bit of news? Well, they're developing the 2D version of the rally game for mobiles and they're passing the much more challenging to develop 3D version to…

I'm sure we've all come across our fair bit of wacky console related news from around the world, bewildered at many of the crimes committed over such a relatively inexpensive and trivial piece of hardware. And now finally, we have some of that zaniness to share to the rest of the world. Smh.com.au reports...
Two armed men have burst into a home in Sydney's north, terrorising a young couple before stealing a Sony PlayStation from the house.
A 21-year-old man inside the home at Wahroonga was hit…
Congratulations are in order for Blue Tongue Entertainment for landing a fair few The Best of E3 nominations at Gametrailers.com in the categories of Most Innovative Game, Best New Franchise, and Best Wii Game for their innovative "part Katamari, part colouring book" game called De Blob.
And although the Melbourne developers didn't take out any of those titles, being nominated is a huge achievement in itself as those categories were filled with some incredibly heavy duty games such as WiiFit,…
Team XBOX recently had the opportunity to get a hands-on of the E3 build of Krome's upcoming title, Viva Pi?ata: Party Animals for XBOX 360.
Krome's lead designer on the project, Cameron Davis, said that the mini-games were designed to be easy to pick up and play, with most only requiring one button. In addition to this the AI skill would modify dynamically to match the player skill, thus lowering the barrier to entry while providing a challenge for those players more accomplished.
