DragonBear Studios – Full time Gameplay Programmer/ Generalist Programmer, 12 Month Contract

We are seeking a full-time Programmer to join our small, playful, and diverse team on-site in CBD Melbourne, Australia. Flexible work hours, and partial remote work can be negotiated.

This is a newly created role designed to support the Lead Programmer and the Technical Director.

We're a Melbourne based collective of cross disciplinary creatives, and our team is comprised of over 50% women, culturally diverse, queer, and Indigenous storytellers bringing our meaningful tales to you through play.

About You:

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, loves coding, problem solving, and is overall a joy to work with.

We are seeking candidates who have:

-Positive attitude and strong sense of initiative

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Proficiency with C# / Unity3D

-Strong problem solving skills

-At least one shipped commercial title, or equivalent experience. More shipped titles are a bonus.

-Ability to design solutions to meet studio and project needs

-Ability to work collaboratively with designers, producers and QA

Here’s some tasks that we are currently working on that will be distributed among the programming team - if you have an interest in any of them then we’ll work that in:

-UI programming, AI, Networked multiplayer, Gameplay Events, Shaders, Asset and Data management, and more

Bonus points (but not required):

-Unit testing

-Experience launching on both PC and consoles

-Game design and/or level design skills, and the ability to articulate these concepts
