About the position

We need a part-time 2D and Concept Artist for the production of marvellous games for our customers. The artist must be able to draw characters and environments that meet the technical requirements for the development of art assets for games. Also, the artist should have experience in the development of UI art, with layouts and direction (for UI) based on prototypes or wire-frame documents. 

‍You will need to submit a portfolio of your best work that includes hand drawn characters, environments, and ideally UI for games. You should focus on art produced for the development of games for the majority of your work. As an artist, you will work closely with our team to gain valuable experience, this will help to ensure you are able to meet our very high world-class production standards.

‍The part-time position will be offered initially as a contract if you can demonstrate the skills and work well within our friendly team. Then this is your golden ticket and maybe your first chance to work in the games industry and with Mode. We have a number of new and future game projects that we need your skills for.

‍Since the position is part-time, the candidate does not need industry experience, but must be able to work at least 2-3 days per week in their office on a regular basis. In order to apply for this position, you must work on-site in our conveniently located Sydney studio near Town Hall station.

Job requirements

We are looking for candidates with the following skills:

  • Excellent Photoshop skills
  • Outstanding hand-drawing skills for the design and development of characters and environments for both existing and new brands
  • UI (User Interface) design experience
  • Demonstrate a variety of art styles
  • Experience with Unity is a plus!
