Melbourne based iphone developer Adam Rudd has created a guide to take the guess-work out of constructing a website for your Indie studio's project.
The article breaks down successful sites (including the Voxel Agents) into small features that can be emulated and applied to new websites. From this, he discusses the time saved from creating mockups for all brainstorming and site iteration before finally getting down into implementing the website itself.
For developers who want to save a bundle…

Hi Everyone,
I am creating this thread as a method for exposure. I am currently completing my bachelor degree with honours and am in need of survey data.
My research is based around user interaction, focussing mainly on the relationship between user and digital avatar. I am aiming to collect this data through an online survey located at my honours site. I do not wish to pressure anyone to complete this survey, therefore I have not included a link, but provided a method for…
Although there was a large feature on L.A Noire in the March edition of Game Informer magazine five months ago, not much has been heard since of the detective thriller title from Sydney's Team Bondi.
Earlier this year, publisher Rockstar confirmed a rough release time frame for L.A Noire in Fall (around September) this year, which was a welcomed relief for patient fans eager to get their hands on the game which has suffered numerous delays since development initially started in 2004.
The bad…
well, got a simple 'game in a day'* project done and running on iphone, lunalander, using the angle the iphone s held at to control thrust, screen space openGl and reponding to touch events to trigger state changes.
the other funky screen shots are from the start of a model viewer (touch screen to move camera, handset angle held to control camera direction) and performance testbed. 256 objects with 12 vertex each can be rendered at 60fps. currently looking at the game engine 'ogre' iphone port…

In 1980, Alfred Milgrom and Naomi Besen began publishing books for home computers under the Melbourne House label before making the move to games development. From very humble beginnings of having their work office based in their living rooms, and hiring students from the University of Melbourne, Melbourne House / Beam grew to become one of the most well known and respected game developers and publishers in the 80's with huge hits like the text adventure game, The Hobbit, and The Way of the…
Firemint have released a swag of new images of Flight Control HD, the latest iteration that's coming out mid-September as a DLC on the Playstation store for the PS3.
The screenshots show off the new Playstation exclusive maps, each of which contains an interesting mechanic to make it more challenging for fans. The "Metropolis" map cycles through day and night, emergency air ambulances will take priority for landing in the Australian outback map, the aircraft carrier map contains a rotating…

Like many who was at the Freeplay 2010 awards ceremony, I was more than curious to see the game that had took out the "Best Design in a Game" award which included finalists such as The Voxel Agents with Train Conductor.
Up Down Ready was submitted to the Freeplay committee by Sword Lady & The Viking, however, as they mentioned in their speech upon receiving the award, they had not released the game at the time.
It has been released now, however, and you can check it out at www.kongregate.…
