Is anyone planning to go to the Australian Game Developers Conference in December, down in Melbourne?

Thanks for the email Jacana, I have to catch the train at 9 that day, so if the thing is early enough I should be able to come. As for Saturday I'm not actually attending the dinner, but does anyone know if the full 3 day delegates, or full 2 day delegates for saturday get into the lanfest for free? I think a few years ago they had a sponsor bring up some pc's for attendees to play on.

You can try the Crown, after the AGDC dinner last year I went with some of the lanfest guys from up here in Qld.

Its not too bad, there's some clubs and places to eat...but its a casino, not the best place to get drunk IMO.

It was tough finding places to eat in the city centre after dark too - we had to wander up to Chinatown one night...

Hehe, I'm one of the *very* few people in Australia who do not posess a mobile phone. Its a mixture of by choice, by income, and by necessity.

Well I'll keep an eye out anyways, might see each other in the expo and what not.

True, I can also SMS through the 'net. But I doubt that I'll have net access at the conference, and I don't think I'll be popping in and out of teh conference making calls to mobile froms payphones.

I'll just play it by ear I guess.

Well, sounds like a lot of people are going, I look forward to seeing you all there (face to face). I am part of a trio that is displaying an unsigned game Idletime...working hard to make it look nice, hard hard work...could be a long few days (not long enough though). Good luck to all that have been nominated, and well done to those that win, it goes to show if you work hard you can achieve you goals...

Might be tricky identifying people who have 'real names' as opposed the aliases on here...

As Daemin suggested to me the other night, we could write our screen aliases on our name badges in texta or something. But it might be nice to figure out a place at the conf we could meet at lunchtime or something saturday...i dunno :P

I've gotten a few emails from people uncertain of whether Souri is my nick or not, so to avoid any more confusion - it's my actual name. I remember someone once said I had "the best nick on the internet" in an irc channel I used to visit a lot.. [:D]
