This month IGDA Sydney, in conjunction with the NSW Writers' Centre are running a debate about narrative in games. We have six experienced panelists who will be talking about the unique challenges involved in creating narrative for video games. From gameplay, to dialogue, to character development and everything in between!

Flashback 2013 Demoscene party - Sydney June 8th to 10th - c64 - Amiga - PC - Console

Flashback is a Sydney event which started back in 2011 and with each year passing seems to be getting bigger and bigger. It takes place on the Queen's birthday long weekend (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) 24 hours non stop event and provides realtime programming, graphics, music, hardware hacks, animation competitions for all platforms, such as the commodore c64, commodore Amiga, console, and PC, This year we will have on show case workshops and a retro museum with classic computers from the good old days and for people who want to display, repair and discuss old hardware.

IGDA Sydney are holding their regular Beer 'n Pixels meet-up next week, giving Sydney games developers the opportunity to get together, chat, and check out or receive instant feedback from their latest builds or game concepts over a beer or two in this post-GDC 2013 gathering.

Don't forget to bring the necessary power cables and power boards if you intend on showing your work to fellow developers there!

IGDA Melbourne: Pocket Dogfights and Post 2013 GDC

IGDA Melbourne are having a double header for the next monthly meet-up on Tuesday, next week.

Just released on iOS and Android is Pocket Dogfights by Melbourne indie games developer, Rob Caporetto.

The development of Pocket Dogfights started in late 2011, from a period when Rob was working on a bunch of small game prototypes in his spare time. Finding this one to be the most fun, he started developing it further during his downtime from a day job.
