This was a piece I did for an activity at conceptArt a while ago, though i might post here to keep things ticking over and show fellow Sumeans what I've been up to with personal work. I included the quick thumbnails to show a little of the process involved.

I guess you'd call it fan art, the idea came after watching the Street Fighter 4 video's out a few months back.

Work time would have been around 6 hours and was done using photoshop cs2 and a wacom intuos3.

This piece started out as a 'Daily Sketch Group' activity at Conceptart.org. Was happy with the initial quick painting, and luckly to have some time, to develop it into this a finished piece.

I did this for a Wacom competition but finished it about a month too late to enter :(
created using painter, photoshop and illustrator (quite an invloved set of processes.).

Developer diary number 3 has been posted (You can also find the previous ones and other footage on Youtube, or linked from AgeofConan.com.

I thought I'd post it as it feature your's truly talking about the Art Direction process in AoC. :) Also thought I needed to show friends in the Australian Industry that I'm still alive an kicking.

Ack, but I reslly do hate seeing myself on film.

A report from FunCom, Oslo.

After two years working on this project, Age of Conan is finally beginning to look and feel like a game. What I'm most proud of course, is that we've managed to develop a thoroughly unique look and feel for the world itself, on ehtat is faithful to Howards' work.

We've spent a great deal of time fleshing out the respective cutlures past and present, and we've endeavoured to put them into context, showing influences and what not. Moreover, we've striven to make the world look 'lived-in' - the problem with many games, MMO's especially - is that everyting looks as though it was built yesterday. This won't be the case with Age of Conan.

As concept artist I've had the task of designing most of the environments, which I hope to show here soonish, most of the weapons, a fair portion of armour, and the occasional creature. :)

Polish continues and well as the completion of the parts of Hyboria we'll be releasing but I hope these give you some idea of what we''re trying to achieve. Some of the screens don't do the visuals justice and also the game has made great visual strides in the past month with the implementation of new tech:

Well it's been a while since i've contributed, Age of Conan keeps me busy, especially since being made asistant art director on the project. There hasn't been much time for personal work at all. However, I do have a few pieces in the pipelie and I also hope to post some recent professional work if FunCom allows.

This piece was completed in a day - began as a sketch. The original is 2000x4000 @ 300dpi.

A couple of my recent works. Both fully digitial, the cartoon line work was done with illustrator ! (a newish process for me)

Recently I have been busy creating new (and hopfully improved) samples to go into my concept art portfolio.

I don't seem to keep my journal very up-to-date with what I am producing. So it's high time to do a bit of an update... and here it is!

some sketchbook environments in pen, a second GTA style illustration just to prove the first wasn't a fuke and the final of a character protrait.

I don't think I ever posted the final protrait in the forum. It was a long and painful process finishing it, but much thanks goes to those that posted criticism, I would have never finished the project to such a high quality (high for me at least) with out the help and encouragement.

This piece has been created to display (and practice) alternate styles / techniques.. In the style of Rockstars game - Grand Theft Auto. Created using Photoshop and Freehand.

whilst waiting for the next quick 2d activity I though I would 'doodle' a face in a few spare hours. Things got a little out of hand and a more or less finished painting have been the result.

Created in Painter with a little Photohshop and Illustrator along the way.

I was called on to provide designs for the rocket and space-station for the Cadbury Crunchie Spaeways tv commeicial. Ultimately the rocket only makes the briefest of appearances and the space-station doesn't appear at all. but I thought I'd post this up here since it's been a while...

Hey, now based in Oslo, Noway, working on Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures. There's been a great deal to do, not only workwise but just getting settled etc. So far, despite some homesickness and missing friends and family I'm enjoying myself. And the women are gorgeous :) (I had to say it)

A revisited personal project. The original project was a set of different air/space craft finished to a pen and marker stage.

This piece was created entirely in photoshop.

finally managed to get some thing done to post to the mod concept art thread!

Refining the processes of creating a character concept and model sheet. all tone and colour added in Photoshop. Initial drawing were pencil on paper.

This is a reworking of an old concept that I'd done in 2003 for an undisclosed project. The concept was for a rapid depolyment VTOL personnel dropship. Markers used.

I have finally invested in a tablet :) and this as the first more-or-less finished painting. Created with 'Corel Painter Essentials' and some minor photoshop work too.

Finally recharged the markers and got around to doing some sketching again! These images are sketched by hand and coloured in P'shop.

Well... this is my final painting for the current 'quick activity'. Painted in Photoshop. see thread for more details on process etc.
