While he's not from Australia originally, and perhaps because he's not, he's got some great thoughts on why this is such a great country to be a game developer in, but also looks at the difficulties of finding the right staff when running a development studio in Brisbane and we explore what's needed to help train developers, to get more of them to the right tier of experience, and to spread the industry around the country and not just always talk about how great things are down in Melbourne.

Working with the development team in our Brisbane production studio and in collaboration with professionals from Gameloft studios around the world, this role is responsible for the online features of our games.

Responsibilities

• Implement game specific online features
• Work with Gameloft's online service teams to communicate, diagnose and fix any issues we are experiencing with the infrastructure services
• Development of required client, server and utility software
• Producing relevant documentation
• Be flexible and provide support for other team members during critical stages of development

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in a similar role
• Proficient with C++ and C#
• Solid Python scripting experience

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering and content creation teams to design solutions based on Gameloft's online service infrastructure
• Implement generic online features suitable for use by the studio as a whole (storage management, advertising features etc.)

We are looking for a talented programmer to join us in Brisbane in the role of Gameplay Data Tracking Programmer. In your new role, you will be responsible for the day to day support of the game creation process, integration of tracking solutions in our games and supporting Business Intelligence and Data analysts with appropriate implementation for collecting the data and queries to collected data. This role will also have cross functionality to collaborate with game designers to implement gameplay features and to support the Release and Live Operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards.
• Create and implement well-engineered, reliable, maintainable, and bug-free code.
• Collaborate with team members to support development of various gameplay systems.
• Implement the tracking code: identify the required data or a key point in the game code, identify the correct moment in the game flow when the data is valid, collect the data and send it to the tracking servers.
• With collaboration with BI and Data analysts, identify and implement efficient data layout to support complex BI queries.
• Efficiently communicate with the Gameloft global tracking team to ensure correct implementation of tracking in studio games.
• Integrate internal and third party solutions to collect data.

• Work closely with Art and Design teams to ensure the highest quality UI graphics defining the look and feel of the menus of each game while paying special attention to the quality of the User experience;
• Create art assets for menus, icons and in-game HUDs, in addition to ensuring upcoming titles' usability by designing intuitive, attractive and innovative UI systems.

• Work closely with designers in the creation of detailed feature specifications
