QFU update

There has been good progress on the game recently with the addition of Gail Brooks to the team who is doing awesome postwork.

Call for Submissions

Queer Screen is seeking artists, innovators and queer storytellers working with digital media technology to submit work for exhibition within queer_pixels. queer_pixels will be held as part of the Mardi Gras Film Festival 2005, and will showcase works of interest to a queer audience from new and established digital artists and producers.

Men Dressed as Counterstrike Characters During Killing

News.com.au reports on a bizarre killing that puts some blame on a popular computer game...

"A COURT has been told two men dressed as characters from a computer game shot a man dead in front of his family during a home invasion in Sydney...

Crown Prosecutor James Bennett SC, told the court Mr Em and another man invaded the Logozzos' home shortly after midnight, dressed as characters from the computer game Counter Strike."

Women in Games Luncheon

"Krome Studios and the Game Developers' Association of Australia are pleased to invite ALL women attending the AGDC to lunch to informally meet, network and make new contacts in the games industry. AGDC Women In Dev Luncheon

I received an email from Evelyn Richardson, Executive Director for the Game Developers' Association of Australia, and she told me about a Women In Development luncheon that will be held on the Saturday during AGDC.

I checked the AGDC website and saw no details on the luncheon, so I sent off an email to Pon Chaleune, AGDC & Events Manager. She said that their website admin has been unwell but the site should be updated in the next few weeks to include the luncheon.

TY2: Bush Rescue peak at Supanova Tomorrow!

John Passfield has given us the word that he and Steve Stamatiadis will be at Supanova in Brisbane this Saturday, giving a sneak peak of the Ty2: Bush Rescue! So if you want to get the first chance to see the sequel to one of Australia's best selling games, make sure you're at Supanova TOMORROW! John and Steve will be appearing Saturday, 3:30pm.
