We're looking for an experienced front-end web developer to join our team (based in Sydney, but all working remote now!).

The role is full-time on a 3-month contract, with the possibility for extension.

Over the next few months, we are working on several Very Cool™ projects, and we’re looking for a developer who knows their way around interactive web apps to help us deliver all of them.

Must-haves:
- Demonstrated experience creating modern web apps with React, Vue, Angular, or your own popular framework of choice.
- Demonstrated experience creating interactive web projects with three.js, PlayCanvas, or similar (please include links).
- A commitment to working in a professional, inclusive, and supportive environment.
- Solid CSS / SASS / LESS skills.
- In-depth understanding of and experience with web optimisation and responsive design.
- Strong team focus and highly competent problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Git version control.
- A passion for games.

Nice-to-haves:
- Backend development experience (especially node.js)
- Cloud resource set up and management experience (especially AWS).
- Experience with OpenGL / GLSL shader programming.

BACK END DEVELOPER

Tin Man Games/Steel Sky Productions is currently seeking an experienced Back End Developer to join our growing team.

The Role

You will be:
- Working full-time from our headquarters in South Melbourne.
- An important member of a close-knit team.
- Working as part of a small team of programmers on a Games Workshop title.
- Managing the build infrastructure for our games
- Developing back-end services and features for a live-ops multiplayer game.
- Communicating with external service providers to troubleshoot problems and deliver solutions.

A bit about you…

You're a game programmer with experience working on networked or multiplayer games. You can work with QA and production to help deliver stable builds on a deadline.

You’ve got excellent communication skills and are a proactive and independent worker. You know what a live-ops game needs to ensure it runs smoothly and effectively.

You enjoy working as part of a close-knit and communicative team.

Required

- Working with Unity/C# to develop video games.
- Javascript.
- Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Windows operating systems.
- Managing Git repos and the build pipeline for the game.

Bonus Points

- Experience using PlayFab or working on multiplayer solutions.
- Experience with CPanel websites.
- Experience with Amazon A3 services.
- Experience with bash and command line scripting.
- Familiarity with any of the following: Trello, Confluence, JIRA.

The successful applicant will work directly with the TYKO Team, assisting with the development of our proprietary TYKO Engine, built to provide a dynamic new experience in the augmented and virtual reality space. 

REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will be a fast, creative thinker, proto-typer and enthusiastic collaborator with the capacity to turn new ideas into consumer facing products.

• Minimum 2 years experience
• Solid knowledge of front-end web development.
• A firm grasp of 3D geometry/mathematics and understanding of the graphics pipeline
• WebGL, GLSL and Three.js experience and expertise is a must
• A good brain for vector maths, and tackling tricky problems in 3D space
• Proven experience with HTML5 / CSS3 / ES6 Javascript
• Ability to develop unique solutions to new problems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Willing and able to learn new technologies as the need arises
