The Australian games industry, it's serious business.
Sure, we may be getting screwed over console hardware and software prices. Our exchange rate with the American dollar is something like .90, and whereas they pay $50 US for their games, we pay over $100 AU for ours. Go figure. But that hasn't hampered the enthusiasm for interactive games by Australians in the slightest. The Interactive Entertainment Association of Australia has announced some some exciting stats snatched from those GFK…
Gamespy has written up a preview of Krome's Hellboy: The Science of Evil on the Xbox 360 which was showcased at Comic-Con recently. A new video advertising Auran's online PvP focussed ORPG Fury takes a clever jab at other multi-player online RPG games that heavily consist of level grinding, such as the ever popular World of Warcraft and... well, the rest of them. In fact, if you are indeed a World of Warcraft player, it's highly likely that there's a pizza guy/girl making out with your significant other next door right now, if the video is to be believed. Of course, you're probably in the middle of a raid, so there's…
Gamespot AU broke the news last week that Sega is making a come back in Australia, leaving many with the lingering question "what the heck are they planning to do here?".
For the four tortured souls who asked that very question in our comments section, relief is at hand. Luke Plunkett, Associate Editor at Kotaku, made his way to the new offices of Sega Australia, which I am guessing isn't at the old Sega World at Darling Harbour, to ask them just that. Were they here to develop a super secret…
