  • Next Wave today announced that the management of the Freeplay Independent Game Developers Conference will be handed over to Australian indie game experts, Paul Callaghan and Eve Penford-Dennis. Paul and Eve are spearheading plans for a 2009 conference and are developing a range of ancillary industry-building and social events.   • Melbourne developer, Firemint, have released some very comprehensive sales stats on their iPhone hit game, Flight Control. The 16 page PDF document breaks down Flight Control's sales between March 24th and April 25th, showing off some interesting numbers like total sales by day, total sales by country, sales trends, and chart performance.   • Greetings, The games industry event Design Aikido was held on Wednesday the 22nd. As a fellow industry designer I wanted to share my views on this event. Held at a classy little Bar & Club on the Melbourne docklands, it was a good place to hold such an event. The space fitted the 50 odd attendants quite well.
