  • Vooks has reported that over 30,000 Wii units have been preordered in Australia, an obvious sign for the level of excitement for the imminent release on December 7th. Signs also point that the Wii will become the fastest selling console, considering that the Xbox 360 sold around 30,000 units in its first week. If the Wii’s preorders are anything to go by, it should surpass that record.

  • Sony is planning on distributing dev kits for the PlayStation Portable locally, according to Screenplay: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is sponsoring the scheme which will offer a "significant number" of PSP development kits plus crucial technical support to local developers. The program will be co-ordinated with the help of the GDAA and Queensland and Victorian state governments.
